5 Declarations When You Feel Unsettled
➡️ Plus helpful Scriptures and some apps that are changing my life...
Have you ever used declarations?
Declarations are statements that help:
Remind you of a truth when your feelings are taking over
Declare who you want to be (and who you are working toward becoming)
Empower you when you’re feeling helpless
If you are feeling unsettled this week and you need some declarations, copy and paste these to a note on your phone. Or write your favorite one on a sticky note and put it somewhere you’ll see it every day. Whenever you’re feeling unsteady, pull out your declarations and say them out loud. Memorize them if you have to. Adjust them and modify them according to what you need to repeat in order to believe. I added a Scripture verse under each declaration if you want to read and memorize those too.
1. Declaration #1:
My feelings are real but they aren’t permanent. I am growing steadier and stronger every day.
Verse:
“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Declaration #2
I get to choose how I show up in the world. No matter what I face, I will respond with integrity.
Verse:
“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely…” Proverbs 10:9
Declaration #3
I will not yield to fear. I will trust God as the upholder of my life and the defender of my heart.
Verses:
“Do not yield to your fear.” Luke 1:30
“Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.” Psalm 54:4
"The Lord is your mighty defender, perfect and just in all his ways; Your God is faithful and true; he does what is right and fair.” Duet. 32:4
Declaration #4
Through every season of change, I anchor myself in an unchanging God who is a firm foundation for my life.
“God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
Declaration #5
My best days are ahead of me and not behind me. I will create great memories, love courageously, and enjoy life.
“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18
Quote 💬
“When I give something I do not possess, I give a false and dangerous gift, a gift that looks like love but is, in reality, loveless—a gift given more from my need to prove myself than from the other’s need to be cared for…
One sign that I am violating my own nature in the name of nobility is a condition called burnout. Though usually regarded as the result of trying to give too much, burnout in my experience results from trying to give what I do not possess—the ultimate in giving too little! Burnout is a state of emptiness, to be sure, but it does not result from giving all I have; it merely reveals the nothingness from which I was trying to give in the first place.”
